Brass is a personal gun inventory app built to be low effort. It's not for reloaders or spreadsheet people. It's for anyone who wants to know what they own, what it's been through, and how many rounds are left in the cabinet, without it ever feeling like a chore. Open it, log what you did, and get on with your day.
A Gun Inventory That’s Easy to Keep
Add make, model, caliber, serial number, photos of each firearm, and where and when you bought it. Brass has presets for makes, models, and calibers, so most of it is a tap instead of typing, and anything it doesn't know you can type in yourself. Your guns are grouped by type and easy to search or sort by caliber, make, or rounds fired. Optics, lights, suppressors, and other accessories live alongside your guns and can be attached to one or kept on their own, which makes a handy record of what's mounted on what.
A Round Count Tracker That Keeps Itself
Log a range trip and Brass adds the rounds to each gun's lifetime count and takes them out of your ammo. Log a cleaning and you can see how many rounds have gone through since. Bought a gun used? Set a starting round count by hand and Brass keeps counting from there. You never do the math.
A Shooting Log for Every Range Trip
Record the date, location, distance, the guns and ammo you shot, and your notes. One trip can cover every gun you brought, so a day at the range is one entry, not five. Add photos of your targets and crop each group right out of the photo, then tie it to the gun and ammo that shot it. Shooting two loads through the same rifle? Crop a group for each and compare them side by side, so you can see which ammo shoots best out of which gun.
Ammo Inventory, If You Want It
Tracking ammo is optional. Add what you have on hand by brand, caliber, and grain weight and your counts go down as you shoot. Restocking is a quick add by the box, and Brass warns you before a log would use more than you have. Favorite the ammo you use with each gun and it comes first when you log a trip, so picking it takes a tap. Leave the count blank and Brass just records what you shot. You can even scan a box to fill in the details on devices with Apple Intelligence.
Gun Cleaning and Maintenance Log
Keep a cleaning and maintenance log for each gun, tied to its round count, so you know at a glance how long it's been and how many rounds ago it was cleaned, lubed, or serviced. Moving an accessory on or off a gun can add an entry for you.
Design Your Own Targets
The target designer lets you lay out paper targets on a grid, from simple bullseyes to whatever shapes you want to practice on, and print or share them as true-scale PDFs. Then take them to the range and log your groups.
Gun Inventory for Insurance
Already have a gun inventory spreadsheet? Import guns, ammo, and accessories from it and Brass matches your columns automatically, so you can preview what it found before anything is added. When you want it all back out, export everything as spreadsheets and photos, ready for an insurance list or a safe deposit box.
A Private Gun Tracker, No Account
There's no account to make and nothing to sign up for. Your data stays on your device. Lock Brass with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode, and hide serial numbers from view when you're showing someone your screen. If you want your guns on more than one device, iCloud Sync is end-to-end encrypted, so not even Apple can read it.
